摘要

The effect of element pattern symmetry on the performance of dual-polarized adaptive arrays for interference suppression in global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is studied. Through Monte Carlo simulations of an array of two dual-polarized circular microstrip antennas in the presence of randomized interferers, it is shown that for most interference scenarios the array performs the same as a four-element righthanded circularly-polarized (RHCP) array, therefore providing a significant 50% array size reduction. It is however shown that the capability of the dual-polarized array in suppressing RHCP interferers is limited when the array element patterns are equalized in the E- and H-planes.
