This paper presents a discussion and examples of using the Characteristic Basis Function Pattern method for the modeling of radiation patterns of large, wideband reflector antenna systems. It is shown that beam normalization should be applied to reduce the number of required modes to achieve a specified accuracy in the reconstructed interpolated field, and that care should be taken to sample finely enough in frequency to capture any chromatic aberrations if high levels of accuracy are required.
