This paper describes a user requirement analysis performed as an online survey and the results. The focus is on the use of Augmented and Virtual Reality techniques in human-machine interfaces, especially in the domain of industrial robotics. The results of this analysis show opportunities and acceptability of these innovative techniques but also risks. The results will be used for further research activities and development of prototypes using data gloves and virtual reality devices in the industrial production context.
