摘要

In Japan, there are many songs and stories about fragrances in classical literature. In addition to burning incense in Buddhism rituals, Japanese created a unique world so called "Kodo." This also shows that the Japanese have been in history with scents. Regarding the aroma of hospitality, it is necessary to consider the preference of the scent when greeting people. In order to know the preference to the scent of hospitality and Japanese traditional culture, we conducted the questionnaire survey to Japanese males and females using different fragrances of different types and examined the results.
