Existing PWM analysis techniques are mathematically intensive processes and are not directly compatible with the analysis of methods that feature variations in the switching frequency and/or complex commands. This paper presents a powerful and computationally efficient analysis technique of single phase and multi-phase systems that is suitable for any method of PWM, including standard, fixed switching period methods and those with some elements of variation or randomization in either the switching period or the PWM method. The method is evaluated using existing analysis techniques, and novel applications are explored.
