Study on the promotion of the meaningful happiness of the elderly with the spatial and social supportive system constructed by the community - A practice in Yin-Tong community in Tainan city, Taiwan

Under the idea of ???aging in place???, it's supposed to face the negative factors both the external environment and the aged individual from the position of the community when promoting the well-being of the elderly. Take the Yin-Tong community in the downtown Tainan city as an example, the ratio of the elderly in the community is highly (about 19.9%). The elderly faces not only the physiological degeneration and the unexpected future, but the alienation from their used environment out of the increasing commercial activities. This practice tried to construct the spatial and social supportive system to turn over the negative situation and promote the well-being in these three years. This study collates and analyzes the practice of the community organization; and then, proposes the characteristics of the spatial and social supportive system to promote the meaningful happiness of the elderly.
