Nowadays home energy use is increasing and renewable energies are deployed, home energy management system needs to consider both energy consumption and generation simultaneously to minimize the energy cost. In the existing system it uses solar inverter and wind inverter for the energy generation, and the home server is also used for maintaining the home appliances energy consumption. This requires providing individual home server which becomes costly and hence the existing system is somewhat difficult to maintain. This project proposes a smart HEMS architecture that manages both energy consumption and generation. The proposed system consists of a high efficiency and high quality solar panel for generating energy. It also uses Bluetooth application through which the load is controlled by sending commands. The number of consumed units and power factor values will be displayed on the LCD screen. All these modules are controlled by the LPC2148 Microcontroller. This project enables the user to monitor the power consumption in home through webpage so that the home appliances can be controlled through a smart mobile.
