With the development of computer network technology and multimedia technology, real-time multimedia transmission will become increasingly important. Due to the current network bandwidth, multimedia data compression technology, and other restrictions, such as distance learning, audio and video conferencing systems, remote medical diagnosis is now basically have not been fully realized. In this paper, a scheme using Forward Error Correction(FEC) and Quality of Service(Qos) is proposed to improving the Packet Loss in realtime video transmission. On one hand, the scheme uses improved Vandermonde matrices to avoid the issue that the erasure codes built by classical Vandermonde matrices may not be RS codes. On other hand, this paper design a Qos in receiving end to solve problems of disordered packets and repeated packets. The simulations indicate that the packet loss ratio and transmission efficiency of the proposed scheme are superior to conventional method.
