The higher levels of PM are caused by the dust generated by 1.1 on-site movement of heavy duty vehicles on the dry unpaved roads, 1.2 unloading of waste 1.3 Infrequent spontaneous or deliberate burning of wastes 2. During winter 2.1 SO_4~(2-)> NH_4~+> NO_3~->Cl~- >Ca~(2+)> K~+ >Na~+ >Mg~2 3. During Summer 3.1 SO_4~(2-)>NH_4~+>Ca~(2+)>NO_3~- >Na~+>Cl~->K~+>Mg~(2+) 4. Heterogeneous activities at the dumpsite may contribute to the particulate emissions with metals Al, Na, Mg, Si, K, Ca, S, Zn, Fe, Cu and Ti 5. (NH_4)_2SO_4 - Major contributor to visibility impairment 6. The dose proximity of dumpsite and urban settlements make this area a potential air pollution hotspot.
