Title: Experimental study of convecting flow field inside the Hull Cell bath chamber with jet flow mixing: effect of jet nozzles on flow pattern, mixing effect, and plating quality
Mixing of convective layer of wet plating greatly influence on the plating quality. Role of vorticity and turbulentenergy as mixing indicator was investigated experimentally using jet flow mixing in the Hull Cell chamber for wet plating.Dynamic PIV was utilized to investigate these parameters for mixing strength and affected area of general wet plating. Actual wetplating was also conducted using identical Hull Cell chamber to investigate the influence of mixing strength on plating quality.Turbulent energy proportionally increases its strength as flow rate increase while increase of vorticity strength seems to saturateat higher flow rate. It seems minimum value of vorticity and turbulent energy may be important for quality plating.
