Research described herein gives preliminary findings for an array of NGAM devices. While many of these technologies hold promise, often significant improvement is needed before they can be viewed as sufficiently accurate to meet a wide range of test conditions. Many of the devices would appear to be highly portable, low cost, and relatively easy to operate. Some of the performance characteristics we observed might indicate that developers in some cases might not be aware of conditions that would negatively influence device response. Feedback to NGAM developers on performance characteristics is being performed in an attempt to reduce the time between next generation improvement in response and agreement with reference monitors.
