Integration of e-Assessment Management System into Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure in University Education

摘要

The Faculty of medicine at Pavol Jozef ?afárik University in Ko?ice is one of three medical faculties in Slovakia that significantly contributes to the labour market of doctors in both general and dental medicine. This contribution has a notable international impact, as more than a third of our medical students are foreign students covering more than sixty countries around the world. However, this increasing international interest in studying at our faculty requires adaptation of teaching processes to modern teaching trends in order to keep the high standards of teaching quality as well as the attractiveness of medical education. Various electronic teaching and learning methods that have already been integrated into the information and communication infrastructure of the faculty noticed positive reactions of the teachers and their learners too. Because of the specifics involved in medical education, our teachers proved that the combination of such modern online learning forms with traditional face-to-face interactions is an efficient approach to motivate students and to reach their better performance. On the other hand, it is also expected the student's knowledge and skills will be evaluated objectively and guaranteeing the same conditions for all. Therefore, we decided to search for an optimal and unified way that will allow us to manage test and examination procedures conducted by our teachers in different departments. In this paper, we present the achievements of our work in this integral part of the learning process.
