Decarbonization is significant to green supply chain (abbr.GSC), making the research of carbon emission of the whole supply chain one of the most important theoretical foundations of GSC's implementation. In this essay, the concept and connotation of GSC based on low carbon emission are analyzed. Meanwhile, recent research findings in this field are inducted and summarized separately in theoretical, scientific and empirical perspective. In the end, further research directions in this area are pointed out.
