摘要

The paper presents the study regarding the implementation of actuators that use special smart material springs. The system relates to an actuator formed by of two elements, one fixed and one mobile that are attached to a force measuring device. Between the two elements are placed a number of springs made from a material with special properties, and those springs heated at different temperatures will give rise to tangential force. The paper presents the characteristics embodied in the force variation developed by the material according to the applied temperature and characteristics concerning the same forces developed by the material based on the applied electrical current being heated through its own resistance. The results will lead to the development of high performance actuators and rotary motors based on the nitinol properties.
