Modified siloxanes are polymers presenting different advantages compared to organic materials: water repellency, weather resistance, slip surfaces, low viscosity and thermal stability. These resins can be incorporated inside coating formulation as main binder and lead to the formation of a strong and resistant film layer. The thermal resistance of silicone-based coatings that will be discussed in that paper is a key property that produced several scientific papers.
