摘要

This computational study indicates the existence of strong hemodynamic abnormalities in the BAV ascending aorta, which may trigger early biological events leading to aortic dilation and dissection. Ex vivo experiments are currently under way in our laboratory to further measure the effects of BAV ascending aorta WSS on the biology of the aortic wall. This mechanobiological approach will provide new insights into the role played by BAV hemodynamic abnormalities in the development of aortic dilation and dissection.
