摘要

Saemangeum intertidal area, located in the south-western part of Korean Peninsula is underreclamation recently for the purpose of providing suffi cient land and water for agriculture. Whileplanting vegetations stabilize reclaimed lands, due attention is needed in selecting suitableplant species because of its unique environment such as high salinity and fast wind. In thisstudy nurseries were grown of potential salinity-tolerant trees and saplings were planted intwo different test fi elds. Based on the monitoring of growth rates of the saplings, the mainfi ndings were:Suitable species: Twelve out of 36 planted species survived and grown well in KunsanOkgusite until now.
