摘要

In this study, we studied the activated carbon process in reuse of sewage treated water forSWG (Smart Water Grid) water treatment combination process. For the water blending inSWG water treatment combination process, adsorption equilibrium and batch experimentsof dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the sewage treated water by activated carbon wereconducted. The sewage treated water used was prepared with known quantities of organicand inorganic compounds. It was described using the mathematical model through a seriesof isotherm and batch experiments. There was unfavorable adsorption region in the low DOCconcentration and favorable adsorption region in the high concentration. Adsorption modellingisotherms were predicted by the Freundlich, Langmuir, Sips and hybrid isotherm equations.Especially, hybrid isotherm of Linear and Sips equation was a good adsorption equilibriumin the region of the both the low concentration and high concentration. Linear driving forceapproximation kinetic equation with Hybrid (linear and Sips) adsorption isotherm modelwas successfully applied to predict the adsorption kinetics data in various activated carbonadsorbent amount. In applying carbon adsorption for treating water and wastewater, hybridadsorption equation plus linear equation with Sips equation will be a good new adsorptionequilibrium theory and model for the activated carbon process in the SWG water treatmentcombination process.
