EVALUATION OF WATER QUALITY COMPARING FARMING METHOD IN SAEMANKUM PADDY FIELDS

During the last ten-year period, point source loads of Saemankum watershed decreased59.8% with expansion of environmental facility. However, non-point source loads increased16% during the same period. In this study, we try to analyze water quality change statisticallyin order to apply agricultural non-point source pollution reduction methods. Experimental plotsare located Iksan-si Chunpo-myeon in Saemankum watershed. Experimental plots consistof six blocks of the three treatments which are conventional treatment, water treatmentand fertilizer treatment. Conventional treatments maintain ponding depth 7 cm and useconventional fertilizer. In water treatment, ponding depth varies between 7 cm to 12 cm. Infertilizer treatment, conventional and slow-release fertilizers were used. Water quality wasmonitored during cultivation period in 2013 and we analyzed pH, EC, TN, TP, SS, TOC,NO3-N. The statistical analysis of water quality result was done using IBM SPSS Statistics 20(SPSS, Inc, 2011). These study fi ndings will be used for non-point source pollution reduction.
