Now a days, many advanced countries are developing eco-friendly and new renewableenergy-based energy prodicing systems due to depleting resources, escalating oil prices,and climate change. As Korea imports more than 97% of energy resources, the study of thisnew possibility of energy generation is important for her. In 2013 summer we faced massivepower shortage as a warning for blackout, so the necessity for eco-friendly construction ofgenerating units has been increasing. Korea Rural Community Corporation already has hydropower plants using agricultural water, which are generating electricity 31,723 MWh/yr with12,469 kW of total generating capacity at 17 places in 2012.From the results of the study reported in this paper, methods are suggested to increase powereffi ciency through fi eld instrumentation in CheongCheon hydroelectric plant with water fl owfrom water wheel and produced electricity generation.
