摘要

Y-type insulator string is a new suspension insulator structure used in high voltage transmission lines. But the study on kinetic characteristics of the Y-type string under the strong wind action is scarce and non-systematic. The purpose of the present paper is to study the optimal structure of the Y-type insulator string structure by analyzing the swing and buckling characteristics under strong wind action for ±800kV UHDV transmission lines. Two parameters, deviation displacement and buckling ratio, are proposed to characterize the influence of the fluctuating wind load. The advantages of the Y-type string are discussed compared with the V-type string. The influence on the cross arm length of the tower is discussed by the contrast on different angles of the V limb. The tower head size can be further optimized by analyzing the kinetic characteristics of Y-type strings under the strong wind action.
