The quantification of fugitive and diffuse emissions of VOC are always a difficult task. In Europe, a standardization work on the validation of the methodologies for VOC quantification by remote methods is currently running (CEN WG38). The quantification of emissions is not only a problem of concentration detections, it also needs wind field data for the flux calculations [1]. The Reverse Dispersion Modeling (RDM), is standardized in Europe [2] to estimate the fugitive emission rates of diffuse fine and coarse dust sources of industrial plants or areas. The present work focuses on the adaptation of RDM to quantify VOC emissions in an industrial site, applied in the context of field experiments conducted by the French Petroleum company (TOTAL) in a refinery. This study aims at improving the quantification of global VOC emissions in the waste water treatment sector with a low cost micro sensor network.
