Operators on final assembly lines at automotive companies need to receive sufficient training to enable them to switch effortlessly in performing assembly operations on one model to the next. A virtual training system, "VISTRA", was designed to provide a supplementary approach for training to existing methods which rely on physical prototypes. A user-centred design approach was adopted to realise such system. Context of use and user requirements analysis were conducted; followed by providing design solutions through personas, scenarios, and storyboards. It was found that the combination of text-based scenarios and storyboards was beneficial for a team that consisted of multidiscipline and multinational members.
