The aim of this paper is the application of human-computer interaction methods to the field of passenger information in public transport. Appropriate methods are presented in order to analyse the characteristics and requirements of passenger information systems. Based on the analysis of users, tasks, environmental context, and systems, a framework is created for user-oriented development in public transport. This framework includes a set of methods, to analyse passenger information systems and a basic set of results.
