Culture and Art Localization Research in Globalization Background

摘要

Walter Gropius once predicted in Harvard University that new Bauhaus movement would lead to the birth of the new international style. And early at his student stage, Ieoh Ming Pei, a Chinese-American design master, showed his disagreement to Walter Gropius' view, because he comes from a country with very different background. The collision between these two designers indicates actually the hot topics in contemporary design. That is, the conflicts between globalization and localization. This paper tries to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of globalization and localization and their mutual relationship, and explores the development of localization design in the globalization background.
