Recently, contaminations related to the sidelobe clutter were found in the high sensitivity mode of the Ka-band Precipitation Radar (KaHS) onboard the GPM Core Observatory. When the sigmaΛ0 at the nadir was stronger, U -shaped sidelobe clutter was more distinct, while intensities were much weaker than those of the KuPR sidelobe clutter. The statistical method for reducing sidelobe clutter was constructed for the KaHS. By applied the method, contaminations in the KaHS were largely removed. This method will be installed in the coming KaPR level-2 algorithm.
