The main purpose of this paper is to apply GM(0,N) to weigh the problem on the topic of the relationships between the effectiveness and listening comprehension strategies. Individual learners' listening strategies cyclically influence how teachers might teach strategies to students to improve learning. The teaching of English listening should consider the learners' differences in learning style so as to increase the effectiveness of the learning process. Therefore, how learning strategies influence students' learning process and how to promote their learning effectiveness attract lot of attention. The intent of this study was to focus on EFL learners' learning abilities by analyzing the strategies they employ in order to understand learners' awareness of the listening learning process. The paper adapted the questionnaire “Listening Comprehension Strategy Inventory for EFL Learners”. The questionnaire was divided into 4 parts. First, a cluster of 236 learners at the undergraduate level in Taiwan were asked to complete this questionnaire. Second, apply GM(0N) to help the calculation of the whole data. Besides, a Matlab toolbox has developed to weigh this problem. The results indicated that when learning a second language, learners tend to apply translation or transfer method. This result from language interference unless learners adopt direct method, they will always apply L1 usage to L2 language.
