An exploration of technology trends in the emerging field of QEEG Diagnostics and Bio-Neurofeedback treatment with a look at clinical and consumer applications. The early years demoted biofeedback to a pseudoscience- for which skeptics blamed placebo for any physiological benefits. Popularized by computing in the 70s and 80s, the field of biofeedback has seen major advancements in recent years with supportive research and applications including ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and Insomnia, to name just a few. As of 2012, neurofeedback is respected as the best intervention for ADHD by American Academy of Pediatrics. Even NASA has implemented neurofeedback in the flight deck as a means for modulating auto-pilot activities. Until recently, biofeedback has been limited to only clinical applications due to complexity. Consumerization of the technology, with the development of dry sensors, and implementation of portable computing with specialized auto-thresholding techniques, has broadened the technology's reach to the average consumer.
