In this study, the capability of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) for rapid and quantitative detection of 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA) residues in vegetables was investigated. Used homemade bean sprout samples as blank control, and added 6-BA in the blank samples, the 6-BA extracted form extra added samples showed typical characteristic Raman peaks at 1002 cm-1, and normalized 1002 cm"1 intensities had a good linear relationship with 6-BA concentrations. The linear range was 0.1-5 ug·mL-1, and the quantitative detecting limit was down to 0.02 mg·kg-l that was below the maximum allowable residues (MAL) of 0.2 mg·kg-1, which is the limited value in related National Standard of China. The recoveries were 82.4%-94.0% and the RSD was below 15%. This method with portable equipment showed the advantages of good reproducibility, short test time-consuming, simple sample preprocessing, and easy operating. This rapid detecting technique offers a fast method to obtain quantitative information about the presence of 6-BA residues in vegetables and fruits, and which especially fits for large-scale on-site detections.
