Haldor Topsoe introduces two new multi-functional catalysts for CO, VOC and NOx abatement of gas turbine exhaust. One is designed for installation upstream the ammonia injection for oxidation of CO and VOC; the other is optimized for operation downstream the SCR catalyst, combining additional NOx removal with CO, VOC and oxidation of ammonia slip. These functionalities provide new options for tuning the catalyst layout to achieve optimum performance, e.g. by tuning ammonia injection to minimise catalyst volume and still meet target ammonia slip. The gas turbine catalyst series further includes SCR catalysts with a new structure that provides lower pressure drop, reduced mass transfer resistance and higher surface area which assures higher activity and improved catalyst utilization. An exceptionally low thermal inertia of the catalyst structure minimises emissions during start-up. This is of particular importance for simple-cycle peaking units with rapid ramp rates.
