HYBRID, PHOTOVOLTAIC AND DIESEL GENERATORS ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY OF THE MONASTERY CHILANDAR

This paper describes a hybrid (photovoltaic and diesel generators) solution of the electric power supply the Chilandar monastery. Average daily electric energy needs of the monastery are 450 kWh and peak power is 80 kW. It is presented a solution that in addition to the existing specifics in electricity production includes the following criteria: consumption of diesel fuel is minimal, it does not create noise so do not affect to the peace of the monks, there are the minimal polluting of fuel and the various particles of the combustion products, the system is autonomous, reliable and maintenance is reduced to a minimum. Diesel generator station has two diesel electric generators rated power 40 kW each and one with rated power of 80 kW. In addition, there are batteries for energy storage of 400 kWh, and photovoltaic rated power 80 kW. There are photovoltaic charge regulators, rectifiers, which supplement the permanent power to the battery from diesel generators and inverter with rated power of 100 kW which supply the monastery. With this solution is achieved low fuel consumption.
