1. Inkjet printed packaging materials can provide high quality, customizable packages. 2. Nanocellulose-based coatings can improve inkjet printability for packaging printing. 3. Nanocellulose (CNC) alone has the highest color gamut. Further, the addition of divalent metal salts prevent ink bleeding. 4. Overprint varnish (OPV) provides durability to prints. However, salt in the coating can destabilize the OPV especially at high temperatures. 5. Overall, Epsom salt containing coating has shown better performance with OPV when compared to calcium chloride in a coating with OPV.
