Development of Spring Bar Automatic Measuring Instrument

the instrument was developed by comprehensively making use of the mechanical, photo and electronic techniques. It controlled by a microcomputer system, can automatically measure nine geometric parameters of a spring bar which needs only one time of installation. Its uncertainty of measurement is by far less than one- tenth of the tolerances of the measured parameters, and it spends only about forty seconds to complete the measurement of a spring bar. This paper introduces the principles of the structure and operation of the instrument, especially presenting the principles of the specially devised mechanical-photo-electronic and photoelectronic sensors used in the instrument.
