HIV Related Stigma and Collectivism Orientation Acting as Predictors of Unemployment of People Living with HIV/AIDS

HIV related stigma is regarded as one of the major barriers that prevent PLWHA from returning back to normal life. The current study builds on previous research regarding barriers to employment among PLWHA by investigating the role of perceived incompetence in addition to the fear of contagion from the viewpoint of employers in charge of recruiting new employees, which is crucial in verifying the perception of PLWHA and helpful in overcoming employment barriers. The function of collectivism is also discussed in this paper.
