EASTERN EUROPEAN EMS SITE LOCATION OPTIONS: WHY KIMBALL ELECTRONICS SAW POLAND AS THE BEST CHOICE

Eastern Europe continues to grow as a hub for electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers. The region offers a range of choices in terms of lower cost labor choices. As with most emerging and established low cost country (LCC) options there are tradeoffs. Kimball Electronics Group originally chose Poland as the country best suited for its initial site location in Eastern Europe and continues to grow its operations there. This presentation will look at the positives and negatives associated with that choice in terms of overall cost competitiveness, logistics, quality of workforce, ease of doing business, compatibility with customer base, and regional stability. It will also look at some of the trends motivating OEMs to choose Eastern Europe over European locations.
