Based on factor analysis and clustering analysis, a comprehensive evaluation model is constructed and utilized to evaluate and classify the frontier port logistics development in Heilongjiang province. According to the characteristic of frontier port logistics, the evaluation index system of frontier port logistics is established. Considering the 14 frontier port cities of Heilongjiang as the logistics centre nodes, factor analysis is used to carry on the comprehensive evaluation on the development of frontier port logistics because it can dispel the correlation in multi-indices and lower the numbers of indices. Clustering analysis is utilized to classify these frontier port cities into several categories according to the new indices obtained from factor analysis. The results show this method can simplify the original complicated problem. Relevant suggestions and advices are put forward to provide scientific reference for overall planning of frontier port logistics in Heilongjiang.
