In the first 6 months of 2010 there was a comparatively huge amount of serious media coverage about aliens and life in outer space. The coverage was the result of many different comments by a number of very high profile scientists such as world famous theoretical astrophysicist, Dr. Stephen Hawking, astronomers such as Dr. Frank Drake, Dr. Paul Davies, Lord Martin Rees, Dr. Seth Shostak. There were a number of dismissive remarks about UFOs, but no sensible discussion concerning the extensive evidence that Earth is being visited by extraterrestrials. SETI was treated as if its practitioners had vast knowledge about aliens in outer space despite the fact that they clearly knew nothing about such matters and were using dart board physics to support their weird proclamations. It seems time for ufologists to point out, loudly, that these emperors of the skies have not clothed their views with new suits of reason or evidence.
