Study on Rheological Behavior of Alumina Black Porcelain Substrate

Preheating is favor to increase the dimension of alumina black porcelain powder, lower the specific surface energy and improve the rheological behavior of slurry, which is favor to obtain a low viscosity of ceramics suspensions with high solid loading. The effects of the amount of dispersant, solid loading and the R ratio (plasticizer / binder)on the rheological behaviors of the slurries were studied systematically. The results indicated that all slurries (35~50vo1% solid loading) exhibited a shear-thinning behavior and relatively low viscosity, which was suitable of casting, and the optimum amount of dispersant increases with the increase of solid loading. The viscosity of slurries decreased sharply with the increase of the R ratio, the rheologieal behaviors of alumina black porcelain slurries were improved obviously.
