An improved 3-stage L-band erbium doped fiber amplifier

摘要

A 3-stage structure L-band EDFA is introduced to enhance the poor power conversion efficiency by utilizing the wasted ASE from the third EDF section and pump bypass in 1–2 stage. The results indicate that the EDFA could provide low-noise, high-gain and large-flatness ranging from 1570 to 1610 nm.
