Protection and development of famous historical and cultural cities based on sustainable development—A case study of Nanjing

摘要

The development of cities is an eternal topic. However, we should pay more attention to the protection of the history and culture in the development of famous historical and cultural cities. There are several universal problems during the development and protection process of such cities. To develop historical and cultural cities based on the principle of sustainable development is the key idea and most important among the diversified solutions. This paper analyses the problems during the development process of famous historical and cultural cities, comes up with several strategies of sustainable development from three different aspects including government, enterprises and society, and then takes City Nanjing as an example to clarify.
