摘要

In the current clinical practice, plaque vulnerability is assessed by the physicians based on their experiences and medical images (ultrasound, MRI, CT, IVUS). About 20 surgeries (endarterectomy, plaque removal) are performed to prevent one rupture! If plaque vulnerability can be better assessed, some unnecessary surgeries can be avoided. CPVI adds mechanical factors into consideration and has the potential to improve the accuracy of plaque vulnerability assessment.
