The results call for the evaluation of the speed accuracy tradeoff in an online mode rather than in an offline analysis to account for the users' ability to attend to a character over time.We have demonstrated the ability to communicate a chosen character from the BCI2000 to the controller of the robotic arm and chair. As each character in the BCI matrix represents a specific command in the controller, the user is able to control the motion of the arm and chair by focusing attention on a specific character on the screen.The goal is to improve the usefulness of the P300-BCI-Robotic arm system for the user by developing a display that will represent the intentions of the user effectively. Different types of displays will be tested (e.g. commands, picture of objects, a menu display with objects, tasks and locations) for people with severe disabilities for communication, mobility and manipulation.
