This paper presents a novel method for error analysis of the InSAR-generated DEMs by efficiently simulating the InSAR processing with random errors added to different relevant factors (orbit data, baseline, range, co-registration, phase, etc. ). Simulated DEMs results are compared to the given DEM, so that the influence of relevant factor errors on DEM deformation can be studied. In the experimental part, the position accuracy(latitude, longitude and elevation accuracy) is estimated for different error sources types respectively. The method can be implemented as a general-purpose tool for the accuracy analysis of InSAR DEM with arbitrary SAR sensor or even sensor under development.
