Avionics / Communication and Data Handling system (AVIO/C&DH) is essential to the Japan’s first mannedspace module “KIBO”. This paper summarizes how AVIO/C&DH technologies were integrated each functionthrough the domestic and/or international interfaces in order to assure system stability, reliability and crew safety andhow Japanese space industries acquired the AVIO/C&DH technique for Large Scale Manned Space System.
