The hydrolysis kinetics of heterobifunctional monochlorotriazine/ sulphatoethylsulphone dye,C.I.Reactive Red 241,was studied using reversed-phase ion-pair high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) under the conditions of various time,temperature and pH value.The hydrolysis was a pseudo first-order reaction as long as [OH-] was kept constant.There were three different hydrolysates in the hydrolysis process,and after complete reaction only one hydrolysates existed.The velocity of hydrolysis increased with increasing the temperature or the pH value,and each 10 increase caused a 2.2 °C -fold increase in the hydrolysis rate constant of C.I.Reactive Red 241 dye and the hydrolysis rate constant at pH 10 was 4-5 fold of those at pH 9,pH 8,90.In terms of the hydrolysis characteristics,the°C suitable fixation conditions for C.I.Reactive Red 241 were as follows: pH 8~9,<80°C, <40min.
