Validation of shielding design for spent fuel cask storage facility using various codes

In order to validate the calculation methods for a spent fuel cask storage facility, two kinds of estimation-that of duct streaming and of skyshine dose distribution-were conducted using DORT and MCNP code. The DORT calculations proved higher than the MCNP calculations, although the ratios of dose rate between DORT and MCNP were all only about 2 for the duct streaming and were about 4 for the skyshine dose. We therefore concluded that reasonable calculation results could be obtained by using DORT.
