REDUCTION OF JPEG AND OTHER NOISE FOR ALOS PRISM IMAGE

PRISM image has some kinds of radiometric noise. The stripe noise between odd/even pixels was removed mainly by the histogram matching, but the JPEG noise reduction, mentioned below, is necessary for more complete removal. The brightness difference between CCD devices was removed by the histogram matching. JPEG noise was reduced by the proposed method; adjusting low frequency components of DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) assuming the image is smooth. But mosquito noise was remained. Image quality of PRISM 1B1 product was improved. The program is open on a web site.
