摘要

As a meshfree particle method, the MPS (Moving Particle Semi-implicit) method is an efficientnumerical tool for simulating flows with complicated behavior of water surface, such as wave breaking.In this paper, the MPS method has been applied to solve the Navier-Stokes equation for simulating thebreaking and post-breaking of solitary waves on a uniform slope. The high precision of MPS method inthe simulation of violent free surface flows, like the breaking waves, is confirmed through bothquantitative and qualitative comparisons to other numerical results by the BEM or the VOF andexperimental data. The process of splashup which is hard to be simulated by conventional grid-basedmethods is also well reproduced by the MPS method.
