Analysis of Abnormal Line Loss Introduced by Current Transformer

The line loss ratio of Jiang-Chong 1305 Line has been continuously high since separate-line loss statistic method was employed in 1999. The yearly statistic line loss ratio is around 10%, which is far from the theoretical value of 0.054%. A series of reforms have been conducted for current transformer and the related measurement circuits as well as overhead lines of Jiang-Chong 1305. Parameters including harmonic impulse load are tested and analyzed. The reason for abnormal line loss is not found. In 2004, ECEPTRI conducted on-site verification of the current transformer. It was found that the overall deviation exceeds the limit due to the manufacturing defect, which results in the abnormal line loss of Jiang-Chong 1305. The analysis shows that verification of the current transformer should not be limited in laboratory. On-site verification should be strengthened to avoid abnormal line loss measurement.
