The Foaming Property of Anionic and Cationic Surfactant Blending System

The blending compatibility between four different anionic surfactant and cationic surfactant (1227) was studied. The foaming property of blending system was investigated by using Ross-Mile and agitating method. The experimental results show that the anionic surfactant with polyoxyethylene chain has better compatibility with 1227. The polyoxyethylene chain is longer and the compatibility is better. It's favor of compatibility between anionic and cationic surfactant when the anionic surfactant contain big steric hindrance of hydrophilic group. It has a better compatibility with 1227 when the anionic surfactant contains polyoxyethylene chain as well as big steric hindrance of hydrophilic group. The foamability of the blending system between elected anionic surfactant and 1227 decreases, but the stability of foam increases after adding a little 1227 into the anionic surfactant solution.
